We invite you to take part in the conference “Modern Problems and Directions of Development of Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals and Alloys”, dedicated to the memory of Academician A.A. Baykov (SPM 2022). The conference will be held in Kursk , 15 – 16 September, 2022.

Сonference organizers: Southwest State University, Moscow Polytechnic University, Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev, Sevastopol State University and ZAO “Universitetskaya Kniga”.

The conference is aimed at providing an opportunity for scientists and representatives of organizations to summarize the results of the latest achievements in the field of metal science and heat treatment of metals and alloys, to discuss directions in this area and to establish useful links between partners for future interaction.

The conference is held with the aim of exchanging experience in solving urgent problems of modern metal science and heat treatment of metals and alloys, as well as developing and introducing innovative technologies into production, increasing the competitiveness of manufactured products, identifying new strategic partners for scientific and technical products in domestic and international markets, as well as establishing business contacts between representatives of industry, technical universities and research institutions of Russia and near and far abroad countries.

Conference Themes

1. Study the relationship between chemical and phase compositions (characterized by different types of diagrams), including state diagrams with physical, mechanical, chemical and other properties of alloys.
2. Theoretical and experimental studies of phase and structural transformations in metals and alloys under various external influences.
3. Theoretical and experimental studies of the influence of the structure (type, quantity and distribution of defects of crystalline structure) on the physical, chemical, mechanical, technological and operational properties of metals and alloys.
4. Theoretical and experimental studies of thermal, thermoelastic, thermoplastic, thermochemical, thermomagnetic, radiation, acoustic and other effects of changes in the structural state and properties of metals and alloys.
5. Theoretical and experimental studies of the influence of the phase composition and structural state on the initiation and propagation of cracks under various types of external influences.
6. Development of new and improvement of existing technological processes of volumetric and surface thermal, chemical-thermal, thermomechanical and other types of treatments associated with thermal exposure, as well as specialized equipment.
7. Study of interaction of metals and alloys with external environments in the operating conditions of various technical devices, assessment and prediction on this basis of efficiency of metals and alloys.
8. Study of metals and alloys performance in various conditions, selection and recommendation of the most economical and reliable metal materials for specific technical purposes in order to reduce metal consumption, increase the service life, increase the level of specified physical and chemical characteristics of machine parts, mechanisms, devices and structures.
9. Development of new principles for creating alloys with a given set of properties, including for work in extreme conditions.
10. Development of new and improvement of existing methods of phase, structural and physicochemical analyzes of alloys.
11. Determination of mechanisms of influence of various mechanical, thermal, magnetic and other external influences on the structural state of metallic materials and, on this basis, development of new principles and methods of their testing, providing reliable prediction of the performance of structures.
